Magic Beans Northcliff 2 is a playful, all-inclusive English/Afrikaans micro-school set in a colourful, child-friendly host-home with a spacious, adventurous garden for your little ones to explore and learn through play.

We offer Half day (8.00-12.00)

Once-off non-refundable Enrolment Fee of R2200
Enrolment fee discounts for siblings and twins are available.
Every year after the enrolment year, there is an annual Stationery Fee of R800.00
We only take a maximum of 6 kiddies between the ages of 18 months - 4 years

Meet The Team

Cate D’Oliveira

Playschool Owner

I have always been passionate about children and, therefore, qualified in Early Childhood Development as well as Barriers to Learning Teaching.

After gaining lots of experience and knowledge, I opened up my Play Sense Northcliff group in 2020. In 2024, I changed our name to Magic Beans Northcliff, powered by Play Sense.

I have created a happy, fun, all-inclusive, safe home away from home environment where children can explore through their different senses, developmental stages and learn through PLAY!

Shannon is my incredible Magic Beans teacher & Manager, who is qualified in Early Childhood Development with many years of experience. She has been with Play Sense / Magic Beans Northcliff for 4 years now.

She is full of energy, love and laughter and gets down to the little one's level to engage and interact with them to teach them through PLAY. Shannon helps open their little minds to explore and master new skills and concepts using all the different forms of play through many sensory, imaginative and outdoor activities.

Best of all, the little ones love her just as much as she loves them, making teaching and learning so much more exciting.

She teaches our 2.5-4year olds

Caleb has absolutely thrived at the school and with Shannon! He often tells me all about his day at school as we drive home and he has something special to report on every day. It’s also very special to get the daily pictures from Shannon. I love that he gets to really play and explore the world, that he gets to experience all kinds of sensory input, and that he loves doing art so much. He’s even starting to ‘read’ books to me at bedtime like a real little teacher. The size of the class is perfect for such littlies and I can see that Shannon nurtures each child for the individual they are. It’s such a jewel of a school.

My family have been with Teacher Cate at playsense for going on two years now. We are very happy with the interactive program that Cate runs at her school. I have found that my little girl is growing in leaps and bounds. We love Cate's loving and nurturing personality. She is always very approachable when it comes to our daughter. The kids love to go to school and my daughter, not only thinks of Teacher Cate as a teacher but also as a friend. Cate has taught my daughter about amazing learning concepts aswell as emotional and calming techniques. We love the play pretend activities and the development activities that has been the focus at school. Thank you for this amazing foundation that we see developing with our little girl.

My daughter has grown in confidence, in many different skills, socially and has an incredible imagination, thinking out of the box and a positive problem-solving approach to life. Magic Beans takes each child and nurtures and teaches them on an individual level, at their own developmental stage and growth. Cate & Jillian are warm, welcoming and happy to help wherever they can.
